Berthoud Pass
This motorcycle ride begins at 8,600 feet in elevation at Empire, climbs to 11,300 feet as you cross Berthoud Pass and drops back to 9,200 feet as you enter Winter Park.
This is a quick little ride that offers a lot of fun. The ride begins in Empire, runs over Berthoud Pass and dumps you into Winter Park. Crossing Berthoud Pass, you're exposed to quick straight-aways followed by immediate hairpins. The roadway is two-lanes so you navigate curves with semi-trucks, cars, etc. That being said, the curves are predictable and the roadway is in good condition.
