Kenosha Pass and South Park

One of the motorcyclist’s best alternatives to I-70 is US 285. Coming out of the south side of Denver, US 285 runs up through Conifer and Bailey before it climbs Kenosha Pass and descends into South Park. South Park is an open, relatively flat – emphasis on “relatively” – area in the mountains that was once the summer home of the Ute Indians. US 285 then crosses South Park to Fairplay, where you can either head north over Hoosier Pass to I-70 at Frisco or continue southwest toward Buena Vista.

There is one motorcycle-accessible campground along this route, Kenosha Pass Campground, a National Forest campground right at the top of Kenosha Pass.
