Monument Valley Utah from Albuquerque NM

Monument Valley is a really cool place to see. The scenery out there is amazing and the ride to and from is great. If you stay off the interstates the ride is nice and relaxed with several towns along the way to stop for gas and food.

From Albuquerque, head north on 550 to Farmington. If you're feeling for a little extra ride, you can head up to Four Corners from Farmington before heading out to Monument Valley. From Farmington, take 64 West which turns into 160 when you cross into Arizona. When you reach Kayenta, AZ, head north on 163 and follow the signs to Monument Valley.

There are several choices for lodging near Monument Valley (although, they'll be a little drive away as Monument Valley is pretty secluded).

I did this during the Red Bull Air Race at Monument Valley in May 2007. Some of these pics have some of the pylons set up for the race.

On the way back, just head the same way you came up and enjoy your ride home!
