New Mexico to Arizona and back
Edgewood, NM to Flagstaff, AZ, to the Grand Canyon, AZ, to Show Low, AZ, to Gallup, NM back to Edgewood, NM. Many beautiful sights to see, National Monuments, and National Parks to experience. You start in the High Plains, motor thru the Desert, on to Flagstaff at higher elevations (5000'-8000' elevations) and into the Pinon/Juniper Belt, then up in to the Ponderosa Pines. Head north to the GC area and the terraine gets intersting. Stop in Cameron, AZ and get your GC Park pass for 12.00 at the Cameron General Store. Has everything you may need as a tourist, or if you need to replenish anything. Motor west in to the GC Nat Park. Head south back to Flagstaff, then eastward to Holbrook, and south to Show Low, AZ. Lovely area of mountains, clean town, great area. Back northeast to Gallup, NM but gas up before leaving. Not much between Show Low and Gallup. Head eastward back to the High Plains. Will do this one again, and add a few days to see the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Great Spring or Fall ride. Take your cold weather gear though. You may need it. Winds can be unpredictable from ABQ to Flagstaff. If you plan to stay near the Grand Canyon, reserve your room ahead. Did this in 3 days, and was too short. Averaged 330 miles a day. Add another 2 days to enjoy all of the National Monuments.
