Route 6 Ride

This ride takes you from Albuquerque down through Bosque Farms and Los Lunas and out on Route 6 all the way to I-40 and back to Albuquerque.

There are some very open and empty roads out on Route 6. The traffic once you get to I-40 moves very fast (minimum of 70mph), but other than that stretch (it lasts about 15 miles) it is a very relaxing ride.

You can see some cool scenery along Route 6.

traffic along SR 6
I'll bet you saw more rail traffic than road traffic!

Nice to get away
Once you get to Route 6, it's a very relaxing ride. There's hardly any traffic out there and there's some pretty cool scenery.

The ride down to Las Lunas can be a little slow with all the lights and slow speed limits.

An alternate is to take Route 66 back into town once you reach the Route 66 Casino instead of taking I-40.
