Tennessee Pass
Tennessee Pass runs from Minturn over to Leadville on US 24. En route, it passes Red Cliff, an old mining town worth the detour. Take the turn off into Red Cliff and stay on the bypass and you'll come back out to US 24 in a few miles.
Also of considerable interest is the remains of Camp Hale, where the 10th Mountain Division trained for alpine warfare during World War II. Doing battle on snowshoes and skis was central to their training.
There are several campgrounds along US 24 but most are far enough off the highway on dirt roads so as not to be readily accessible by motorcycle, unless you’re on a dual-sport or dirtbike. There are two, however, that are easily accessible: Camp Hale and Hornsilver Campgrounds.
