The Tail of the Dragon
This is THE place to ride your bike. 318 turns in 11 miles. Enough said.
There's a hotel/store at the south end. Be warned, the bits off of your bike that come off if the Dragon claims you are put into the Tree of Shame... The Dragon claims a few riders each year.
A few photo companies take your picture at the side of the road (the first time by them is a 'WTF??' moment) and you can buy them after you view them in their photo gallery.
No matter, it's a great piece of the country and if you're within riding distance, it's worth the ride. Check out the Blue Ridge Parkway on the way down if you're coming from the North.
