MOTOBOSS Mercury Waterproof Gloves
I purchased these gloves to wear during colder weather or when rain was in the forecast. For the most part they did the job well, although I would say at best they’re 3 season gloves unless you have heated grips or hand guards. During the middle of the winter before I had heated grips and hand guards I needed to wear some tight fitting gloves underneath these to keep my hands warm. Even then the tips of my fingers would get really cold.
These gloves are nice because they have a big velcro flap that makes tightening or loosening them very easy with another gloved hand. The other nice thing is they open pretty wide at the base to fit over most jackets and keep wind from going up your sleeve.
The Motoboss Mercury gloves do a good job of keeping the water out too. I had to ride from Albuquerque, NM to Las Vegas, NV one year and it rained for a good 400 miles. With as much rain as I was riding through, they held up surprisingly well. There was some water around the wrist from where it came into contact with my jacket, but my fingers stayed dry.
I have also worn these gloves in the dead of the summer and while they’re definitely warmer than my summer riding gloves, they weren’t warm to the point where I couldn’t wear them. Because of the nice big opening like I mentioned earlier, it’s also a great way to keep your wrists from getting sunburned. My summer riding gloves are shorter and if I’m riding on the highway my jacket sometimes gets pushed back enough to expose a little skin near my wrist.
If you’re looking for a nice multi-season glove that can handle rain and some colder rides, I would recommend the Motoboss Mercury glove.
