Installing the SW-Motech TraX 45 Liter Panniers on a 2011 KTM Adventure 990
The first step is pulling off the original KTM luggage plate and installing the first pannier mount. As you can see from the picture below the mount sits under some additional spacers which are needed to ensure the luggage plate is level. I spray painted the space black to help match the rest of the back end.

I then mounted my after market KTM large luggage plate back on top of the original one.

The next step is to install the license plate mount. The down side to this mount is they could have made it wider to allow for easy license plate install. The rear fender wasn’t wide enough for it in the first place.

I ended up making my own mount for the license plate. The below picture shows a strip of aluminum with holes drilled for the license plate and to mount onto the SW-Motech rear fender mount.

I used the provided screws for the fender mount and some aluminium spacers to install the aluminum strip to the fender mount. Then I located some smaller screws and aluminum spacers for the license plate so that I could mount that to the aluminum strip that i made.

The next step was to take off the first bolt for the passenger handle while using the longer bolt and metal extender provided.

After both of those have been installed, you can then move onto the metal adapters that attach to the passenger foot pegs bracket.

After all of the above has been completed the luggage mounts can be bolted on. The easiest way to find the proper location is to leave everything loose so that you can adjust all of the brackets while bolting on the luggage mount. Make sure you then go back and tighten everything to the proper specs.

Finally it's time to mount the pannier adapters/mounts, see below.

I opted to install the locks myself vs paying the extra money for Twisted Throttle to do this. Below is what the latches look like without the locks.

Below is a picture of the lock and mount. All that needs to happen is to slide the lock into the latch hole, then slide the metal bracket in the lock slot.

The end results...
